“A client of mine was interested in a custom office layout. They really liked the concept of a glass top desk, but this really limits the availability of what is currently out there, and the specific suite of furniture they really wanted would have cost $28,000 - $30,000, so they were looking for ways to trim that down. There are a number of ways that I’m able to do that as a smaller manufacturer, first by simplifying and customizing the design, and on top of this I can often beat the prices of a big name-brand luxury line.

So the client brought me the old drawings as a reference and we proceeded to narrow down exactly what they were interested in. After these face to face meetings with the client and listening to their explanation of what they wanted to do, I met with my friend “V” who works with me and together we generated our own original drawings and designs that we presented to the client. They approved our design and supplied us with a color sample for the finish of the wood.

One of the nice things about using a small manufacturer like myself is that I am able to adjust the size and design to fit a custom fit a room. For example on this project we added a special cabinet for the television, the big manufacturers wouldn’t offer that, it would have to be custom ordered and in turn wind up very expensive for the customer.”
